The collection consists chiefly of financial and legal papers of the Beck and related Mundy, Hughes, Davis, and Anderson families of Lynchburg, and Amherst, Appomattox and Campbell Counties. Topics include the mill and general store of Thomas Beck; the legal practice of Beck and Captain Charles Mundy; the general store of James Davis; an 1821 slave sale; an estate settlement; an 1831 sermon; and Davis family genealogy.
